Ermesenda was a historical fiction miniseries in two episodes based on the biography of Ermesenda de Carcasona. It was originally produced and broadcast in Catalonia by TVC and part of its filming was filmed in Gerona in April 2010. It was starring several important actors of the Catalan theatre, among them Laia Marull, in the role of Ermesenda, Lluís Homar who incarnated Abba Oliva and Dafnis Balduz, who played Berenguer Ramon I, the Countess' son. The series featured the direction of Lluís Maria Güell and the script of Merced Sàrrias and Nuria Furíó, writers also of the series Porca Miseria.
