Perico Ripiao is a Dominican film released in September 2003 and directed by Ángel Muñiz. The film had a cost of realization of a million and a thousand dollars, given on loan by Miguel Ángel, Angel's brother. The script was a joint work between director Ángel Muñiz and Reynaldo Disla. Muñiz gave Disla 13 pages with the idea of the script to extend them to 100. Eight versions of the script were made before the two authors were satisfied with the result.
