Set in the year 31 before Christ, this comedy of Romans revolves around a wealthy patrician named Manio Sempronio. This man has just accidentally murdered a senator, so he is condemned to death. Manio asks to change the death penalty for something else, so he is displaced as a legionary to Thrace where his father, known as The Magnificent, began his legend as a military. For years, Thrace has been calmed by disputes and with an old man at the head of the government. However, Manio arrives with a desire to recover the honor of his family and be a hero. This causes everything to change: both the military stability of Thrace and the daily life of the intended. Manio is joined by his slave Agorastocles, who has his own desires that live through his owner.
